Lindsay, a stoic beauty who observes the world around her with striking sea blue eyes. It’s hard for anyone to not instantly fall in love with her. She’s charming, kind, patient, inspiring, and unmistakably good. Ben is ambitious, energetic, and extremely chivalrous without a drop pretentiousness. He goes above and beyond to care for those around him. He melts for their dog, Jenga (whom I would love to steal and snuggle) and it’s the most precious thing to watch.
There is a magic between Lindsay and Ben. An unseeable pull, an invisible string that connects the two. They are both incredibly independent individuals who support each other and their differences. Yet, they are always connected. You can feel it, even if they are not together in the same space. That magic is always there.
Their wedding was hosted at Fort Worden in Port Townsend, Washington. The day was warm, cloudless, calm. It was a significant day, yet everything was effortless. Just good people enjoying each other’s company. All there to celebrate the love between two wonderful humans.
While photographing the groom and groomsmen getting ready, the boys forgot to have someone available to help pin the boutonnieres. I’ve gotten pretty good at pinning flowers to a lapel. One of the boutonnieres ended up missing so instead they used one of Jenga’s little dog toys that squeaked. Throughout that evening, you’d hear someone give into the temptation and squeeze it.
Their ceremony was on a bluff overlooking the sea with Mount Baker, white-capped and gleaming in the distance. After being pronounced husband and wife, they kissed, broke glass, and were received by a crowd of people from all across the country. We then took some time by the lighthouse then made our way back to the Commons for the reception.
This was an epic party with amazing food, heartfelt and hilarious toasts, the groom dancing the worm, all complete with The Hora, or chair dance. I was beaming and exhausted by the end. Ben asked if this was the best wedding party ever. I hesitated to answer because I’ve been part of many amazing receptions, but he’s right. Their wedding day is definitely at the top of the list.
