In the midst of creative chaos, I try to make sure I have a day where my little dude and I can spend time adventuring.
A few weeks ago was one of my favorite little man dates.
First, we stopped by the local barber shop, The Victorian Clipper where Maes sat in the huge, victorian barber chair to get a trim. Walking into the shop was like walking into 1910 somewhere in the midwest. Debi was incredibly sweet to Maes and even let him pick out a toy to take home.
Then it was time for lunch at the Bayview Restaurant. We watched the ferry take off, a crow fly up and drop a clam upon the rocks, and the waves during a windy day. We ate cheeseburgers and fries and I taught Maes how to properly eat a slice of orange.
Lastly, we explored the tide pools and found the tiniest of creatures. One little pool housed a tiny fish, a hermit crab, and a mudflat crab.
Then we came home and took a nap.
It was a very good day.
